Hon. Michael C. Fermin, Board Member - First District
Board Member Fermin, while belonging to the younger members of this august chamber, is considered as one of the more seasoned legislators of the 7th Sangguniang Panlalawigan as he grew up breathing politics. Born on October 9, 1976 in Calumpit, Bulacan, Fermin formally began his political career when he was elected Sanggunian Kabataan president of his barangay and was later chosen as SK Municipal Federation President, thus becoming an ex-officio SB member of the SB-Calumpit. Later, he was elected as regular SB member for three consecutive terms. In his last term, he was elected Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Bulacan Chapter president, thus earning him the enviable opportunity of becoming an Ex-Officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for 2007-2010.
He was chosen as “Gawad Galing Sanggunian Most Outstanding Councilor” of the province in 2006 and as a “Dangal ng Calumpit”, just a few of the numerous recognitions he had received through the years which only confirmed his outstanding tract records as a legislator and civic leader. Right now, he is taking up Law at the Bulacan State University College of Law and now in his third year of studies.
He is chairman of the following committees in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan: Committee on Cooperatives, Committee on Education and Committee on Tourism, Culture and the Arts. He is in his first term as a regular board member. Just recently, he was elected Secretary-General of the Philippine Board Members League of the Phils. (PBMLP)-Region III.
