Hon. Ramon R. Posadas, Board Member - Second District
Board Member Monet Posadas, newly installed Majority Floor Leader of the 7th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, is considered the most senior and most experienced among the present members of the provincial board. A resident of Sta. Ines, Plaridel, Bulacan, he finished his Bachelor of Arts, major in Political Science and his Bachelor of Science in Business Management at the De La Salle University, while his Bachelor of Laws was completed at the University of Sto. Tomas.
A lawyer by profession, Posadas first served as board member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in 1995-1998 and in 1998-2001 in which term he was chosen Senior Board Member for garnering the highest percentage of votes in the election. After his two terms in the sanggunian, he ran for Congress in the next election but lost. After six years of hiatus from politics, he ran again in 2007 for board member and easily capped his second opportunity as Senior Board Member.
As a lawyer, he is an active member of Philippine Trial Lawyers Association, Knights of Rizal and Integrated Bar of the Philippines. He had also spearheaded or helped launch and organize some laudable undertakings such as the Aklatang Bayan Foundation and Ang Mabuting Paglilingkod Movement. Among the feathers in his cap are his being adjudged as “Outstanding Board Member of the Philippines,” as “Outstanding Plarideño in Public Service” and as an Outstanding Lawyer.
He chairs the following committees in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan: Committee on Trade and Industry, Committee on Legislative Backstopping and Committee on Rules.
