One of the “four roses among the thorns”in the present 9th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Board Member Therese Cheryll B. Ople, who had topped the election of board members in the First District in the recently held election, comes from the well known clan of the Oples. The daughter of the former Vice-Governor Bernardo Ople, the younger brother of Senator Blas Ople, Board Member Ayee was born on September 11, 1965. She is a first degree cousin of Board Member Felix Ople and the older sister of Councilor Jong Ople of the Malolos City Council. She finished her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree at the St. Paul College in Quezon City and had taken 36 units in Master in Busines Administration at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
Before coming to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Board Member Ayee served as the only lady city councilor of the City of Malolos in 2007-2010 where she had honed her skills as a legislator. As a veteran legislator, she had sponsored quality legislative measures in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, especially those geared towards social welfare development. As an outstanding lady legislator, she was awarded the “Gawad Medalyang Ginto - Natatanging Babae sa Larangan ng Pulitika ng Lungsod ng Malolos” in 2009. In 2015, she was awarded the prestigious Gawad Amerika Awards for “Most Outstanding Filipino in the Field of Public Service” conferred by the Gawad Amerika Foundation, a US based civic organization.
Now on her third term of office, Board Member Ayee presently chairs the Committee on Women and Family, Committee on Transporation and Committee on Social Services. She is also the vice-chairperson of the Provincial Population Development Committee, a member of the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children and Provincial Early Childhood Care and Development Coordinating Commitee and the SP representative to the Calumpit District Hospital Board.
