CITY OF MALOLOS – For the fourth time, Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando will hold a blood donation activity dubbed as Dugong Filipino: Dugong Alay Ng Bulakenyo (DAN-Bulakenyo) on May 28, 2014, 8 o’clock in the morning at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
Fernando said this provincial blood donation program will revive the spirit of volunteerism and unity among Bulakenyos that will benefit individuals who are in need of blood transfusions.
He also said that volunteer donors will receive free health screening that will urge them to improve their overall health. “Inaasahan ko na muling makikibahagi at tutulong ang mga kapwa nating Bulakenyo na mag-donate ng dugo upang makatulong tayo sa mga kababayan nating nangangailangan. Dito na natin maipapakita na maaari tayong makaligtas at makapagdugtong ng buhay,” said Fernando.
The bags of blood that will be collected will go to the Bulacan Provincial Blood Center and will eventually be used by Bulacan Medical Center to help patients who are in dire need of blood.
Last year, 111 bags out of 215 blood donors were collected from the employees of the Provincial Government of Bulacan and other civilians that had registered and passed the screening process.
Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado is supportive to the project of Fernando and encourages Bulakenyos to participate and donate blood to save lives. Volunteer blood donors will be given certificates in gratitude for their cooperation and support to the project. (this article was originally posted at bulacan.gov.ph website)
